Miriam Donaldson, Owner

Throughout my career, I have cultivated diverse experiences to understand healthcare from multiple perspectives and have used these insights to drive innovation.

My biotech roots include experience at a genotyping startup, where I thrived in the fast-paced, venture-backed environment. I built high-throughput laboratories, represented the company to clients, investors, and partners, and advised the CEO on how to adapt through rapid growth and a successful IPO. Working at the intersection of science and business sparked my interest in organizational agility and innovation, which ultimately led me to earn an MBA from Harvard Business School. After an internship with Novartis, I moved to Switzerland and began a twenty-year career in big pharma.

At Novartis, I gained deep expertise in product and portfolio strategy, drug development, digital transformation, and organization design. I built and led global teams across various functions and partnered with senior leaders to deliver a wide range of initiatives—from new business models to productivity programs and large-scale restructurings. One highlight was serving as HR Business Partner to the Chief Digital Officer, where I helped build a world-class data science team, launched digital capability-building programs, and partnered with leaders developing cutting-edge digital solutions.

Since leaving Novartis, I have built M Donaldson Consulting to advise entrepreneurs and companies on designing and scaling impactful products and services. I serve on the Board of Cellolabs AB, an innovative cell therapy company. I am also a partner at brooksmiller which gives me the opportunity to work with clients to create environments where talent and ideas thrive.
